MATTRESS KEEPS SLIDING
What do I need to keep my mattress from sliding?

Check the fit before buying anything
If the frame has a large gap around the mattress, a grippy pad may reduce movement but it does not correct a major size mismatch. Measure the mattress and the inside sleeping area of the frame.
Then add friction
A thin non-slip pad between the mattress and support can work when smooth materials slide against each other. Keep the layer flat and avoid thick objects that change how the mattress is supported.
Also check the frame
Tighten loose fasteners and make sure slats or support pieces are where the manufacturer intends them to be. Movement from a loose frame can feel like mattress sliding.
Measure before blaming the mattress
A standard mattress should fit the frame size it was designed for, but manufacturing tolerances and frame designs vary. Measure the mattress and the usable frame opening. If the gap is large, a retainer or different frame setup may be more appropriate than adding grip material.
Check what the mattress manufacturer allows
Mattresses need the support system specified by their manufacturer. Do not add thick foam, improvised blocks, or other materials that change ventilation or support unless the manufacturer permits it. A thin non-slip layer is meant to add friction, not redesign the foundation.
If the whole bed is moving
Sometimes the mattress is innocent. The frame may slide on the floor, wheels may move, or loose hardware may allow the bed to shift. Watch the bed while someone gets in and out to see which part is actually moving.
Quick questions
Can I put a rug pad under a mattress?
A thin non-slip pad can add friction, but it should not interfere with the support or ventilation required by the mattress manufacturer.
Why does my mattress keep moving?
Common reasons include a slick support surface, a size mismatch, a moving frame, or loose frame hardware.
